Penacho

Colette pays homage to her Mexican heritage with her Penacho collection. Inspired by the headdresses of Aztecan warriors who worshiped god of sun and war Huitzilopochtl, whose name translates to “hummingbird of the left,” Colette uses meticulously cut lapis lazuli, malachite, mother of pearl, and onyx set with diamonds in 18 karat gold. Emulating the vibrancy of the ancient headdress’ feathers, the collection’s striking silhouettes elicit a feeling of the Aztecan warrior’s fearlessness, and convey that with beauty there is endless power.
