Colette’s fascination with flowers is present throughout many of her collections, but Thorns on Fire captures her love for roses in particular. For Colette, the true to life designs of the collection elicit fond memories of the roses at Hotel Costes in Paris and the gardens at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in the South of France, places where she has frequented most of her life.
